Volume Profile Formula Review – What is Volume Profile Formula?

Volume Profile Formula is an introductory course about volume profile trading created by Aaron Korbs at Tradacc. This formula is what Aaron claims is the one proven method that makes him a consistent $10,000-$15,000 per month trading about 2-4 hours per day.

Volume Profile Formula Review - What is Volume Profile Formula

Within this detailed Volume Profile Formula review, I’ll discuss whether or not these claims are true and if the course is worth pursuing. By the end, you should have a clear understanding of what Aaron Korbs, Tradacc, and Volume Profile Formula are all about.

For starters, Aaron Korbs is an active intraday trader with about a decade of market experience who specializes in volume profile and order flow. He’s essentially the face of Tradacc – a trading education company that he co-founded alongside Ruben Davoli.

Volume Profile Formula is the introductory course that Tradacc offers to explain the basics of Aaron Korbs’ trading methodology – which is a framework rooted in auction market theory, volume profile, and order flow trading concepts.

There are 5 main sections of the course containing 3+ total hours of on-demand video: 1) The 6-Figure Volume Profile Strategy, 2) View the Market in Matrix Mode, 3) Volume Profile Formula, 4) Next Level Trade Management, and 5) The 6-Figure Trader Mindset.

There are also a few bonuses that come with it: TradingView Charts Setup Cheatsheet, Plan of Attack Template, and Private Community.

What is Volume Profile Trading and Does Volume Profile Trading Actually Work?

There are so many indicators and charting studies that retail traders blindly rely upon for entry & exit signals (moving averages, Bollinger bands, Fibonacci retracement, MACD, and the list goes on-and-on). But this is an ineffective, surface-level approach.

Volume Profile Trading - What Does Volume Profile Tell You

Most (if not all) of these classic trading indicators lag behind price and aren’t robust enough to produce consistent profits on their own. They all work some of the time by sheer chance, but markets are far too dynamic for simple indicator strategies to be practical.

I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news – especially if you’re currently one of those people making trading decisions based on all kinds of useless indicators. But if it were as easy as following a fixed, rule-based indicator strategy, the failure rate wouldn’t be 90%.

Aaron Korbs doesn’t even like to categorize volume profile as a technical indicator/chart study – which might be a bit of a stretch. But he says this because volume profile – if used correctly – is just different. It adds an extra dimension to market analysis.

It doesn’t spit out “buy here” or “sell here” recommendations just because some lines crossed. Instead, it displays real-time market-generated information in regard to participation. Not all price levels are created equal; the “quality” of price depends on volume.

There’s no doubt in my mind that gaining competence and skill around profiling is far more powerful than traditional indicators.

What is Korbs YouTube – Check Out His Channel For Education and Live Case Studies:

The Volume Profile Formula page is definitely a bit “sales-y” – which I don’t particularly love. In fact, my knee-jerk reaction to it was “scam”. It just gave me an uneasy feeling reminiscent of sketchy programs I’ve experienced in the past.

But unlike all of those sketchy programs, what Aaron Korbs has to offer actually has substance behind it – and what convinced me to actually give the Volume Profile Formula a shot was his YouTube channel. There’s some incredible content there.

What is Korbs YouTube - Volume Profile Formula Review

Not only does he share a ton of solid information in regard to auction market theory, volume profile, and futures trading – but he also puts what he teaches on display through live case studies and trading challenges. He actually practices what he preaches.

Here are some of the case studies/challenges that he’s done in the past or is currently pursuing:

His Daily Profile Show is also a great opportunity for anybody to connect with him and discuss the trading day. It’s essentially an open Q&A at the close of every trading session. So it’s clear that Aaron Korbs is out there “living” his volume profile methodology.

My initial hunches on scams are typically right. But in this case – with Aaron Korbs and Volume Profile Formula – I was wrong.

Volume Profile Formula Reviews & Testimonials From 100+ Students on TrustPilot:

In the conclusion (the next section) I’ll wrap up with my personal overall thoughts on Aaron Korbs and the Volume Profile Formula. But I always think it’s important to hear the thoughts/opinions/experiences of numerous others for a well-rounded perspective.

Volume Profile Formula Reviews and Testimonials From Real Students

If you check out the Tradacc reviews on TrustPilot, the vast majority are positive (over 95% are great or excellent) – which is a solid sign that most students are more than satisfied with what Tradacc has to offer:

“Well worth the price”.
“Truly a hidden gem”.
“Korbs is a great teacher”.
“Excellent introduction to volume profile”.
“I recommend Volume Profile Formula course to anyone”.
“Goes above and beyond in supplying value”.
“Best program that I’ve been a part of”.

But it’s important to browse through the negative reviews as well. The “bad” and “poor” reviews are generally quite telling – and in this case, it seems like the biggest complaints are about the marketing (not the actual education and training itself):

“They sell a big game”.
“Marketing, marketing, marketing”.
“Bonus videos very generic”.
“The Volume Profile Formula is not exactly a formula”.

Conclusion – Final Thoughts on Aaron Korbs, Tradacc, and the Volume Profile Formula:

While the Volume Profile Formula course sales page is a little over the top for my taste (from a marketing perspective), I think the course itself is well worth the cost for anybody with the desire to become a self-sufficient, consistently profitable trader.

But understand that this course alone won’t get you there. It certainly puts you on the right track, in my opinion, in terms of market framework (being rooted in auction market theory, volume profile, and futures trading). But it’s only an introductory course.

Tradacc - Profile Method With Aaron Korbs|Learn a Reliable Market Methodology and Become a Consistently Profitable Trader|

If you actually have ambitions to make trading a significant portion of your income or potentially trade for a living, then next-level training is required. Don’t expect free YouTube content or a basic $47 course to magically turn you into a millionaire trader.

Volume Profile Formula is a great starting point (it’s virtually risk-free because of the price – and on top of that offers a 30-day money back guarantee), but the Profile Method is where the real training is. The Volume Profile Formula is merely a primer.

Overall, I highly recommend Korbs YouTube and the Volume Profile Formula course for starting to build yourself a robust market framework. But please don’t expect it to be some push-button system that automatically generates massive profits in perpetuity.

Volume profile is simply a tool (albeit a powerful one) that takes time and effort to build competence and skill around.

It is phenomenal how much information this post and the related ones have. The videos really helped me understand exactly what you are teaching because before reading article, I knew nothing about volume profiling. You know that saying, “you don’t know what you don’t know.” Well, I definitely was unaware of these strategies, thanks for this.

    • Matt Thomas says:

No problem, KD – thanks for the kind words.

Profiling (both volume profile & market profile) was a game-changer for me personally. These tools helped remove so much mysticism and confusion in my mind in regard to market movement/behavior. I’m a far more confident, consistent, and profitable trader because of it. I know there are a lot of different indicators/tools available out there and various ways (strategies/systems/methodologies) to trade. But I firmly believe that an understanding of auction market theory and profiling is the basis for deep market competence, skill, and edge. It’s kind of crazy how “niche” profiling is because I think it’s foundational to market understanding. Most trading courses out there teach price patterns/candlestick patterns as the foundation. But even more foundational and far more powerful than that, in my opinion, is auction market theory and profiling.

  • Joseph says:

This is a very interesting and informative article that I know will clear up this issue for many who are confused about what Volume Profile Formula is. Thank you Matt for writing this review. I have been looking for a couple months for a program like this that could train me in the basics of the volume profile trading strategy. I notice you recommend the program for beginners but do you think the $10,000-$15,000 on two to four hours of work a day is realistic?

    • Matt Thomas says:

      Hi Joseph – great question.

Volume Profile Formula is an introductory, beginner-level course that broadly covers the power of volume profile and Aaron Korbs’ personal trading methodology. It’s more of a high-level perspective that doesn’t dig too deep into all the nuances. So while I consider it a good starting point because it guides people in a powerful direction rooted in auction market theory and profiling (which I believe to be the best lens to view markets through), I don’t believe it’s all that realistic for the average student to be able to generate a consistent $10-15K per month on 2-4hrs of trading per day by merely going through this intro course alone. Achieving this type of result requires top-level training & mentorship, which he offers through his advanced Profile Method program. So when I mention the “sales-y” nature of the Volume Profile Formula signup page, this copywriting is kind of what I mean. It’s not a lie because Korbs shares how he generates $10-15K per month within the Volume Profile Formula course, but again – it’s just from a fairly high-level perspective. It’s offers a general summary, but doesn’t dig into all the details/nuances/complexities through regular live trading, Q&A sessions, and more like the Profile Method program does.

I’m convinced all the information a consumer would need about trading sustainable is here. A tool like volume profile that displays trading activity over a specified time period at specified price levels allows understanding the “why” of market moves and can plan your trades with confidence that you “see what is happening and likely to happen next”. I love this subject of profile trading, but every resource on this site is great.

  • Rick says:

WOW – lots of information to absorb.  Almost too much. However, you did an excellent job of educating me as to what Volume Profile trading is. You also provided and in-depth look at the educational materiel offered by Tradacc, and how it can help me grow from a beginner to a consistently profitable trader. I did check out a few of Korbs videos and found them easy to comprehend. You have provided credible research/analysis/discussion about the topic. I have limited to no experiences with day trading or formulas or stock market analysis. IMO the stock market is too volatile and wishy-washy to invest in. It is influenced by too many factors such as politics, environmental disasters and more. My opinion about the topic is that I’m not convinced it’s for me even at the intro price. Thanks for sharing the opportunity though.

This volume profile formula review is very interesting. I’ve wanted to look at trading since some time, and I’ve never known what kind of course I had to take. I didn’t know if I should take an online course or buy a book? It was all very confusing and overwhelming. Fortunately, I stumbled across your site and helpful resources allowed me to realize that I definitely want to give trading a try. Thanks for this review, though it won’t make me a millionaire overnight!

    • Matt Thomas says:

I completely understand. The world of “trading education” is an extremely difficult one to traverse. There’s so much nonsense out there that it’s hard to pinpoint what’s legitimately helpful or not. So I’m glad you found the resources on my site helpful in that regard. My goal is to point aspiring traders in the best direction possible in terms of education, training, and mentorship. Keep me posted on how things progress for you – and if you ever have additional thoughts or questions, definitely share them. Take care!

  • Oscar G says:

I agree with the assessment of the Volume Profile Formula course. It’s important to remember that no single course or indicator can guarantee success in trading, but having a strong foundation in market theory and understanding how to analyze volume and order flow can definitely give traders an edge. The fact that Aaron Korbs has a decade of experience and specializes in these concepts is definitely a plus. And the bonus materials, including the TradingView setup cheatsheet and private community, seem like valuable resources for traders looking to improve their skills. Overall, I think the Volume Profile Formula course is a solid choice for traders looking to improve their understanding of these important concepts.

  • Serena Pearce says:

Being a day trader and having done trading courses, I am skeptical when it come to new trading tools… though having read your review about the Volume Profit Formula, it does sound like it may be a tool worth trying. Accounting for leverage, Aaron Korbs must be trading with a rather large base sum to be making $10 – $15000 per month. 30-day money back guarantee does make it a risk free purchase and the price is good. Is the VPF something you would recommend to newbee traders too?

    • Matt Thomas says:

Hi Serena – for new traders, I always recommend my free Trading Success Framework course first. This course covers what trading truly entails from a foundational perspective – and is perfect for individuals who are trying to follow the proper path right from the start.

After going through that course, there are only a small handful of next-level training and mentorship programs that I truly recommend for individuals who are serious about trading for a living or at least making it a significant portion of their income. One of those programs is Aaron Korbs’ Profile Method – and his Volume Profile Formula is just a basic introductory stepping stone to that top-rated program. It’s kind of like a low-cost trial opportunity to see if his trading methodology rooted in futures, auction market theory, and volume profile is the route you want to go down. So I definitely think $50 is worth it for the VPF course, but it’s certainly not anywhere close to the “best” trading course I’ve ever come across. I would reserve that term for programs like Aaron Korbs’ Profile Method and Josh Schuler’s Profile Trading Development Pathway.

  • Liam Tremblay says:

Thanks for the information. I always intrested in trading and krypto currency.
As a begginer I would be happy to know which course is useful and true for start learning.
There are many courses that are fake or not approprate.
Also beside the course the fact that self practice is so important cant be under rated.

    • Matt Thomas says:

Hi Liam – you make a great point there with that last sentence. Self-practice is extremely important. Far too many people think they can achieve trading success by merely copying some trading gurus alerts/signals via text/email or within some chat room. But all that stuff is pure nonsense.

Long-lasting, sustainable trading success requires self-sufficiency through real market understanding and legitimate habit/skill-acquisition. Nobody can just hand trading success to you on a silver platter. Of course there are some extremely strong frameworks/tools (like auction market theory and profiling, in my opinion) – and there are definitely certain trading educators that are far better than others – but I think a lot of hopeful traders’ issues start with themselves and their own improper expectations. They simply have no clue how to get on the right path to consistent profitability. With all that being said, I think the Volume Profile Formula course is useful to start learning – but it’s not some automatic ticket to trading success. It’s just an introductory-level course. Real training and mentorship like the Profile Method program – is far more effective/powerful.

  • Jannette says:

This is a very detailed review of the Volume Profile Formula and what Aaron Korbs has to offer. Just like you, the different advertisements initially deterred me away. But I some took time to watch the Youtube videos on his channel to get a better understanding. The price seems reasonable, and the TrustPilot ratings seem genuine. I have bookmarked this review so I can come back and sign up at the end of the week.

    • Matt Thomas says:

Hi Jannette – thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The price for Volume Profile Formula is definitely reasonably, and there’s a 30-day money back guarantee – so there’s essentially zero risk. But I want to make it very clear that this is merely an introductory course focused on volume profile and Aaron Korbs’ personal trading methodology (at a fairly high-level). His Profile Method program is where the next-level training and mentorship takes place – and is the type of program that I think all serious/committed developing traders should be pursuing if they truly desire to trade for a living or at least make it a significant portion of their income. This is where students develop deep market competence and skill. And his YouTube channel is definitely an amazing place to get started learning about futures, auction market theory, and profiling for free – there’s a ton of great content there.

  • Dale says:

Thank you for shining light on the Volume Profile Formula course as a learning tool.
This review seems unbiased and thorough – which is rare within this industry. It sounds like this product would be a worthwhile starter investment for anyone wanting to learn the basics of trading and then using it as a stepping-stone to then continue further training. The price also seems reasonable, as you mentioned, your not going to lose too much if this isn’t all that you expected. How much is the Profile Method product? Would this be something that you would also recommend viewing after the Volume Profile Formula has been learnt?

    • Matt Thomas says:

Hi Dale – thanks for sharing your thoughts, and great questions!

The best way to differentiate the Volume Profile Formula intro course and the Profile Method next-level training & mentorship program is that Volume Profile Formula is like the trailer and Profile Method is the movie.

The Volume Profile Formula course covers Aaron Korbs’ methodology from more of a zoomed out view. But the Profile Method program is for individuals who are extremely serious about taking things to the next level and learning all the specific nuances/details. Volume Profile Formula is fairly cheap and offers a 30-day money back guarantee, so there’s essentially no risk in checking it out. Profile Method is at a much higher price point (around $3,000) because it offers a whole lot more (better lessons, regular access to Aaron through live trading sessions and Q&A’s, his personal chart setups/definitions, and more). Volume Profile Formula is a decent starting point because I think it points people in the right direction in terms of trading futures, specializing in just 1 or 2 products, using tools like VWAP & volume profile, etc. But it’s nowhere close to what Profile Method has to offer. And what I like most about it is that Aaron’s team at Tradacc goes to great lengths to make sure those who sign up for the Profile Method program are actually a good fit before joining (you have to apply and have a call with a member of his team – you can’t just join willy nilly). So being part of this exclusive community of serious/committed traders is a vastly different experience than most nonsense chat rooms out there.
