December 28, 2016 By Matt Thomas 2 Comments

Sharper Insight. Smarter Investing.

Investopedia is the largest financial education website in the world, attracting more than 20 million unique visitors and 60 million page views each month. The site was founded in 1999 by Cory Janssen and Cory Wagner to provide every investor with timely financial information and news. The company is currently headquartered in New York City and managed by CEO, David Siegel.

The benefits of a resource like Investopedia are abounding and some of the major topics covered include Financial News, Retirement, Managing Wealth, Financial Advisors,  Stock & Options Trading, Personal Finance, ETF’s & Mutual Funds, Economics, etc. The site certainly isn’t lacking in content with articles covering almost any subject or key term you can think of in the financial space. One of the newest features of the site involves risk-free paper trading capabilities in stocks and forex: Stock Simulator and FX Trader. Overall, Investopedia easily earns a spot on the Free Resources page for its dominance in financial information and education.

This looks like a great idea. There is so much information that needs to be understood before people get into investing and trading. I know some people who have gotten started with binary options trading and other types, and they didn’t have the background necessary to do well in it, so it would’ve been great for them to have base knowledge regarding the subject.

Great point, JP. A lot of people underestimate the study time required to become a consistent trader and/or investor. They think they can just sign up for some alert service and simply mirror hot picks – and that’s a dangerous approach. An educational foundation is the best way to start. Take care!
