Head-to-Head Review – Investors Underground vs. Thomas Kralow’s Trading Program:
Investors Underground with Nathan Michaud and Thomas Kralow’s trading program are both top-rated services here at Trading Paradigm. Investors Underground is my top-rated chat room and Thomas Kralow is my top-rated learning program.
But for those interested in the main similarities and differences between the two, and possibly in the position of having to pick one service over the other, this post will provide a detailed comparison in regard to offerings, costs, strengths/weaknesses, etc.
While both Nathan Michaud at Investors Underground and Thomas Kralow would say that they’re in the business of helping educate traders, their teaching styles and offerings are vastly different. This is not a standard apples-to-apples comparison.
For example, Investors Underground provides daily/nightly watch lists, multiple chat rooms, and trade alerts/game plans. Thomas Kralow, on the other hand, offers none of that. He offers a 4-month long training program without the typical bells and whistles.
What is Included With an Investors Underground Subscription?
Investors Underground is structured like your standard online trading program, offering features like video lessons, courses, daily/nightly watch lists, live market commentary, trade recaps, weekly/monthly webinars, chat rooms, and real-time trade alerts.
If you look across the trading education space, platforms offering this same set of features is exactly what you’ll find. Services like My Investing Club, The Humbled Trader, Bulls on Wall Street, Warrior Trading, and many others are structured in a similar way.

Of course these services all vary to a certain degree, but in general what they offer is more or less the same. What makes Investors Underground stand out specifically is how well the chat room is moderated along with Nate Michaud’s personal mentorship.
With over a decade in the game (founded in 2008), it’s clear that Investors Underground has helped educate a large number of traders.
What is in Thomas Kralow’s University Grade Trading Education Program?
Thomas Kralow’s trading program is different than most other services out there. Unlike Investors Underground, there are no chat rooms, watch lists, or trade alerts. Everything is packed into a comprehensive 4-month long program containing over 150 lessons.
The main aspect that I like about Thomas Kralow’s trading program is that it’s not just a jumble of confusing video lessons and pre-recorded webinars, but alternatively a well-organized curriculum that starts out with basic concepts and builds from there.
The reality is that there’s a major difference between conceptual understanding and practical application. There are plenty of free and paid courses out there that do a fine job of covering various trading concepts, but practical application is an entirely different story.

This is where a full-blown learning program like this becomes extremely valuable for serious traders who actually want to build skills for self-sufficiency instead of relying on some guru for trade alerts. After all, self-reliance is the key to durable trading success.
Since the program provides not only the information on critical concepts, but interactive tasks, homework, quizzes, tests, and demo trading for deeper learning and practical application along the way – students almost have no choice but to develop functional skills.
Final Thoughts on Investors Underground vs. Thomas Kralow – Which One Do I Recommend Most?
Even though Investors Underground offers a great day trading chat room and is one of the best “classic” trading services online, I actually think Thomas Kralow’s University Grade Trading Education program is better for new traders – and I’ll tell you why.
When it comes to figuring out how to trade, most people think they want things like chat rooms, newsletters, and alerts to help them. Because the real reason they subscribe to these types of services is to take shortcuts and blindly copy some guru/expert. They try to cheat the process and avoid building legitimate skills. But while skipping the hard work sounds great in theory, it never works.

When it comes down to it, the value you can potentially get out of a service like Investors Underground depends mostly on how you choose to use it. If you join thinking that you can just hop into the chat room every day and try to be a copy-cat of Nate’s trades – without actually learning any concepts or developing skills – then you probably won’t find much long-term success.
Instead, if you use the video lessons, webinars, courses, and other resources to work toward self-sufficiency, then a service like this can be extremely valuable. Rather than using watch lists or alerts to blindly copy trades, try to actually understood the methodology and reasoning behind the plans/trades. No trader experiences durable success by relying on somebody else – they rely on their own skills.
This brings me to Thomas Kralow’s program which offers an in-depth curriculum with interactive tasks that lead up to a point when you create your own personal trading algorithm, track your own statistics, and continuously refine your own approach based on data over time. The program focuses on skill-building, creating your own system, and then executing with confidence on your own.
Overall, Thomas Kralow offers a rare type of trading program that doesn’t tempt traders with alerts, hot stock picks, or the explosive results that some guru or other traders are experiencing. The focus is actually on you – the student – building skills through practical application, creating your own strategy/system, and then executing on it and refining as time goes on.
In the end, the choice is entirely up to you. But I can tell you from experience that choosing the road of self-sufficiency is preferable.

Thomas Kralow’s trading program seems to be a very thorough course. I like the idea of building skills first before jumping in the water with the sharks. I think you’re right. Self-sufficiency is preferable. To get rich, more knowledge and skill is always the best. Most newbies fail to understand that and try to take shortcuts.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Jo.
I completely agree – far too many traders get sucked into sketchy chat rooms and alert services because they’re looking for a shortcut. Some guru to put a consistent flow of winning trades on a platter for them over-and-over again. But that’s just not how durable trading success is acquired. In theory, it sounds great. But in practice, chat rooms and alert services don’t tend to help as much as people think. They’re especially ineffective and dangerous for individuals looking to just blindly copy alerts.
This is why I personally prefer and recommend full-blown learning programs like Thomas Kralow’s University Grade Trading Education. You won’t receive daily watch lists or real-time alerts from him, but instead build the skills to create watch lists and capitalize on opportunities on your own – without the temptation of blind mirroring. In my personal opinion, it’s really a no-brainer that I would start with a program like Thomas Kralow’s if I could go back in time to the beginning of my trading journey.
