How Much Does Warren Buffet Pay For Breakfast?

He Never Spends More Than $3.17 on His First Meal of the Day:

Warren Buffet is one of the richest men in the world with a net worth hovering around $75 billion (in the same ballpark as Bill Gates – $85 billion and Jeff Bezos – $71 billion), so you would think he’d occasionally splurge on his daily morning meal.

But if you thought that was the case, you’d be wrong. According to Buffet himself, he never spends more than $3.17. Each day on his five-minute commute to work, he stops at McDonalds for one of three options, costing either $2.61, $2.95, or $3.17 – all variations of an egg and cheese biscuit (with bacon or sausage). And once he arrives at work, he washes it down with his all-time favorite beverage – a Coke. It seems funny to even think about – could this really be true? But overall, Buffet leads a fairly modest lifestyle despite his fortune. In fact, he still lives in the same 5-bedroom house he bought back in 1958 for under $32,000 in Omaha, Nebraska.

To date, Buffet has donated upwards of $20 billion to charity. It’s clear that the Berkshire Hathaway CEO isn’t all that concerned about material items and fancy meals as he is with building a business empire. So why is it that lunch with Warren Buffest costs $3.5 million?

Warren Buffet never struck me as a miser or a spendthrift. He is more of a philanthropist who gives generously. It comes as no surprise that he gives away billions to worthy causes. I found it amusing that he spends $3.17 for a breakfast. Now that is one guy I would love to meet and have breakfast with.
